Video Quality Study

[Placeholder] Replace this block with the IRB-approved consent text before the study goes live.

In this study you will watch pairs of short video clips and tell us which clip in each pair looks better. The study takes about 15 minutes and must be done on a desktop or laptop computer.

Checking your setup

The study downloads the video clips before each trial (several hundred MB in total). Please use a fast, stable connection and keep this window on your main screen.

Your setup does not meet the requirements above, so you cannot take part this time. If you came from Prolific, please return the study there. Thank you for your interest.

    Instructions

    1. In each trial you watch two short videos of the same scene, one after the other: Video A, then Video B.
    2. After both have played, choose the video with better visual quality. If they look the same to you, pick the one you think is slightly better. There are no right or wrong answers.
    3. Videos play in full screen at their original size. The grey area around a video is normal.
    4. Sit at your usual distance from the screen and do not change the browser zoom.
    5. Stay in full screen and on this tab while a video plays. If you leave, that trial starts over.
    6. You can replay a pair up to 2 times.
    7. You start with 2 practice trials, followed by 23 main trials.
